A Day in the Life at Springroll Gold
Ever wondered what it takes to make a Springroll Gold spring roll? From prepping fresh local ingredients to rolling out thousands each day, there’s a lot going on behind the scenes. It’s a hands-on process, and one we’re proud to take you through.
A small team doing big things
Each day, seven of us are on the tools at our facility in Tropical North Queensland. We’re a small crew, but we work closely together and know the process inside out.
Most of our team have been with Springroll Gold for years, and there’s a real sense of looking out for each other. Everyone takes a lot of care in what they do, and that flows through to the final product.
From raw ingredients to delicious spring roll
We roll out around 15,000 spring rolls a day, and there’s a whole lot of planning, prep and precision that goes into making it happen.
It all starts with receiving fresh ingredients from our local suppliers. We spend the day prepping veggies, mincing proteins and mixing up our flavour combos. Then, the next day, it’s roll time.
Our machine can produce about 1,800 spring rolls an hour, or one spring roll every two seconds. Because we prep everything ourselves, we’re able to keep the flavour and quality just where we want it.
Keeping it fresh
All our ingredients are stored in cold rooms or freezers, depending on what’s needed, so we can keep everything as fresh as possible until it’s used.
We also use the same machine for all our spring roll varieties. That means the size, shape and texture stay consistent, which makes things easier for our chefs and caterers who rely on them being just right every time.
Quality and safety at every step
We’ve got a HACCP Food Safety Plan in place, which guides every part of our process. From the moment ingredients arrive, through storage, prep, production and packing, everything’s tracked and checked. We’re careful with temperatures and follow clear procedures to make sure each batch meets our quality and food safety standards.
Cold trucks and confident deliveries
Once our spring rolls are ready, they’re packed into freezer trucks to be delivered. Keeping that cold chain right through delivery is a big part of making sure our customers get the same product we packed.
What our chefs tell us
We work with some of Australia’s best chefs, caterers and restaurant owners around the country. One thing we often hear is that they love the consistency of our product. They know they can count on our spring rolls to look, cook and taste the same, order after order.
That’s something we’re very proud to deliver.
