Our Springroll Gold story began over two decades ago, when we purchased our commercial barramundi farm, ‘Barramundi Gardens’. Faced with the challenge of using extra portions of premium barramundi fillet, the previous owner began crafting fresh, beautiful barramundi spring rolls.
Here, our signature Barramundi Spring Roll was born, and remains a bestseller to this day. When our family settled at the farm, we handcrafted each barramundi spring roll using our premium fish, selecting only the freshest, crispiest ingredients from local growers and suppliers.
Our barramundi spring roll was an instant hit with our first customers, Mango Jam in Port Douglas and Ochre Restaurant in Cairns, who loved its unique and fresh flavour. 22 years later we’re still proudly supplying our spring rolls to the thriving Ochre Restaurant! We’re so proud to work with some of Australia’s best chefs and leading caterers and food service distributors from all across Australia, many of whom have been with us for well over a decade.
Over the past two decades, with increasing demand and popularity, Springroll Gold has flourished, evolving through product development and countless iterations of our range to meet the growing tastes and demands of our customers. Now boasting a range of ten flavour combinations, we focus on showcasing the best of Australian proteins and ingredients in our unique 'Flavours of Australia' spring roll range.
Operating as a commercial Barramundi farm, we know that controlling the entire process from protein source to final product is crucial. As we expanded into other protein sources, our business plan emphasised sourcing only from local, trusted suppliers to maintain the quality standards set by our home-grown barramundi.
As demand for our spring rolls grew, so did our facilities. Today, our state-of-the-art, HACCP accredited processing facility is the hub and heart of our farm here in Far North Queensland. It's here that we employ local people, contributing to our community and we regularly welcome visitors and customers who have heard of us and seek out our products.
Our facility is equipped with an incredible spring roll machine that produces thousands of perfected, golden spring roll units weekly, ready to reach our customers all over Australia. Being a family-run business, it’s very important to us that we maintain a hands-on approach to ensure our quality is never compromised. Each member of our team takes immense pride in what we produce, and we really are more like a family than a workforce. This close-knit atmosphere is what makes our work so rewarding.
